An Open Table

We are a Holiness, Missional, Christian community. As a new faith community we are identifying with the missional movement and its focus on serving and loving others as God would love them. We are continuing to form our new church family and would love for you to be part of our venture and missional calling.

Generations Church does not exist as a program driven entity but as a group of Christfollowers who see the need for prayer without ceasing, uncompromising love and service, and healing for our land. We are a Christian people who want to realize a movement of missional churches across our state. Farmville is the seed, and along with our parent church Lynchburg First Church of the Nazarene, we are seeing the beginning of what we believe is a great outpouring of God and the birth of new faith communities across Virginia.

We gather Sunday mornings at 10:30 for Worship and hearing a relevant message. We meet in weekly Discipleship Groups for Christian education, and at monthly Open Table Gatherings for fellowship and fun. Since we understand that the church is not a building, a place, or a program, the church is God’s people, our focus is and always will be missional or living as part of the missio dei (Mission of God). We are an outwardly focused church, welcoming all, serving, loving, praying and growing together; we are learning what it means to follow Jesus on a daily basis in the 21st century and how to serve the town in which we live. We want to welcome and invite you to part of our church family.

• If you are seeking something more out of church than flashy lights, programs, and feel good messages, Generations Church may be perfect for you.
• If you are seeking a different kind of church, one that is not about building campaigns and weekly productions; we invite you.
• If you think church should be more about people serving people and learning to love as God loves; we invite you.
• There are no prerequisites; we accept everyone as Jesus did, wherever they are in life, so that you can become all that God intended.
• We are announcing, as Jesus did, that the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.
• We grow in faith and wisdom through Worship Services, Discipleship Group, and Open Tables.
• Some people say that we have more in common with the 1st century church than the 20th century church.
• We are about holiness of heart and life – learning to love as God loves.

So whether we meet you in a home, at the YMCA, or somewhere in Virginia, our prayer is that God will touch you right now, that you will find new and renewed relationship with Jesus, and that your life will be greatly enriched through the Generations Church family.

Generations: Who Are We?

Generations Church is a holiness, missional, Christian community.

We are a church after the missio dei, God who is sent. We are joined together around a dream and a call to build a community in our town with Jesus Christ at the center of mission. Our desire is that we would be a sent, authentic community where people experience and express the reality of God’s love in the way of Jesus.
